Inpatient / Rehabilitation Services
Tiaho Mai
Tiaho Mai provides assessment and treatment for adults in an acute inpatient setting, including 45 beds over three wards - Tui, Huia (35 Open Beds) & Kuaka (10 High Intensive Care Beds).
Staff include: Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Consumer Representatives, Social Workers, Clinical Psychologists, Consultants, Registrars and House Officers as well as Administrative Staff.
Consultation Liaison Psychiatry
Liaison Psychiatry provides psychiatric assistance and advice to the general hospital and is staffed by Consultant Psychiatrists, a Registrar and Nurses.
Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP): Psychogeriatrics
MHSOP offers a fully integrated community and inpatient mental health service for older people (65 years +). Expertise is offered in the assessment and treatment of the full range of mental health disorders that occur in older people.
These include: Functional disorders, Dementia with behavioural disorders and people under the age of 65 years of age if they have an age related disorder, e.g. early onset dementia.
The initial assessment is conducted in the patients home and the decision is made to continue with treatment at home or admit to Ward 22 if necessary.
Ward 22 is an acute admitting ward with 15 inpatient beds.
The community service team provides assessment and treatment for patients 65+ in their own homes, in Rest Homes and in Private Hospitals.
Tamaki Oranga
Tamaki Oranga provides a 20 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit with staff including: 25 Nurses, an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrist.
Vocational Rehabilitation
Vocational Rehab services provide an environment where clients can learn practical work skills, such as workroom (contractual, simple or complex assembly), woodwork and car cleaning co-op.
