Our primary services are provided at one of the three Community Maternity Units or Middlemore Hospital for women who live closer to the base hospital.

Maternity Ward – Middlemore Hospital
The 45-bed unit is staffed by midwives, nurses and health care assistants who provide care for inpatients with a variety of high-risk conditions, including GPH, diabetes, pre-term labour and other medical conditions. High and low risk post-natal mothers and babies are accommodated and cared for in this unit, including women for Elective Caesarean Sections. the midwives and Nurses are also focused on supporting breastfeeding and teaching mothercraft skills.
